Shopping, Swimming, and MONEY
| at 5/24/2010
The thing we have been waiting for since last July finally came. The IRS decided that we were not lying and got OUR MONEY from our first time home buyers thing! Plus a little pillow of interest on that nice little check they sent. So we paid our car off and other debts we owed. We now are driving two cars that are completely ours! WOOHOOO!!!
With that little pillow we decided to have a little bit of fun! So we took a day trip and went up to Green Canyon Hot Pools and had a little swim. It was really nice and warm!
Brandon thought it would be a nice little treat to spend a little bit of the pillow on ourselves as well. So we decided that we each get $100 to do what we want! Brandon spent his as soon as he could on Microphones , a lot of microphones. 3 regular ones and one really fancy fancy one. He would really like to have a home studio one day, and this is just one of the steps. The other thing that he bought from a garage sale, the other day, was this thing called a "Fire Wire".. Apparently the model he got runs for around 800 Dollars and he only got it for $44.. It seems like its a great deal!
Anyways, what i did with my 100 dollars might not surprise you! I spent 50 dollars on Clothes.. and i got some great deals! The discount i get at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic is pretty nifty! I got 25% off of my purchase at Old Navy and i got some really cute things! After a long debate at what i wanted for the other 50 dollars, I decided to buy a SEWING MACHINE!!! I thought that i would like to sew things! I have made things before, but i thought it would be nice to make things and be crafty! As my sister-in-law Tricia says, to become a Fancy Lady.. That would be nice, because i still feel like i am 12 in some ways!
In other news.. We have been in the market for a KEYTAR. They are really hard to find! But we bid on a few and we WON!!
So this week in the mail, we will be receiving One really really nice Microphone. One Sewing Machine, and One KEYTAR!
This week we also practiced with a real life Drummer.. Our next show is going to be insane! A drummer and a keytar! Its going to be so good!
New things, and such!

These last couple of weeks we haven't had anything new or exciting in the means of our music, but alas you can't have it all, right? We have been blessed to visit with family, though! On Easter, we headed down to the good'ol Rockford and had a little dinner and egg hunt with the Jones'. It was so good to see everyone! During one of our many conversations, my older sister Jaclyn told me that i should just look into a new job, post my application around. I kind of blew it off, because the journey to get to PIZZA HUT was tremendous! But Monday rolled around, and after thinking about the possibilities, I applied to The Gap, Old Navy, and The Buckle. The Buckle contacted me quick for an interview, and when all was said and done with that interview, no job. The day of the Buckle, Gap called me in for an interview! Low and behold, i passed and headed to interview number 2. That seemed to go well, i wasn't feeling to confident. But by the time i got home from the Mall, I recieved a call offering me the JOB! YAY, that means no more Pizza Hut after the 23! It just goes to show that sisters have good advice!
Some other good news, Brandon called the IRS to see if our application for the 1st time home buyer credit (which we filed last August when we bought the house) had been reviewed. The Customer Service Representative told us that it had been reviewed and ACCEPTED! They said it should be here around the 27th! That would be way nice! But we are not holding our breaths on that one. The IRS CSR'S have kinda been shady this whole process..
Well thats all for this little while! Will post, indeed, if more excitement enters our lives!
Dancing and Singing..
| at 3/23/2010
This week has just begun, but I figure that I need to inform you readers (if you are reading) how our concert went and the journey's that followed!
On the 20 of March, we played a show at a little coffee shop called Dancing Doggs. It was open mic night so it wasn't anything formal, but boy was there a turn out! We had so much support from those that love us and who could come! When we first started setting up for our show, we walked in and there was this gentleman sitting on the couch. He asked us if we were "Until Dawn", Brandon said yes and I turned around to see what was going on. Marv from Sunny 94.3 was sitting on this couch and all of the sudden shaking my hand and telling me what a great voice I have. I was a little taken back! Then he continued to tell us this "In 33 years of working in radio, I have never put a local band on air. But when I heard your music I was blown away, and it is now in regular circulation!' or something of that sort. He also said that "if you keep doing what you are doing you will go far!" That seems like such a wonderful compliment! I couldn't believe it! It seems like all of those years dancing and singing to the top of my lungs, might actually be paying off!
Our set had a couple of technical difficulties, but it was so much fun! We had family there, and most of our best friends, and a lot of people we never met! It was fun to sing and have the audience clap and even SING along! If only for that moment, everything was perfect! I had the love off my life standing right there with me, and a lot of the people I love the most, watching and supporting us!
After our set, 2/3's of the crowed got up and left. My dad came up to me, hugged me and told me i really know how to clear a room, just stop entertaining them. We took down half of our equipment and asked the Dancing Doggs Ladies if it was alright to leave the rest and come pick it up before the end of the night. They said fine, and we went and had dinner at Chuck-a-Rama with my family.
After dinner we went and took down the rest of the equipment and found that we had a Mic case/bag missing. Oh well, not a big deal, but kind of a bummer! We then headed to our home where we met Jaclyn, Ethan and their 3 beautiful girls. They brought us a pack-n-play which was so kind and thoughtful of them, because one day, sometime we probably will have a baby!
Anyways that was our wonderful Saturday! Now we are onto our new week and its going to be a good one, because we have already heard ourselves on the radio! YAY! Anyways, thats enough excitement for now!

This week has been WONDERFUL! I didn't think this week would be such a monumental week!
Alice in Wonderland
| at 3/15/2010
My surprise this Wonderful Monday was that my husband took me to Alice in Wonderland! It was such a lovely surprise that i already new he was doing, but its the thought that counts! We watched it in 3D, and let me tell you, I kinda feel that all movies that have epic battle scenes and such should, indeed, be in 3D! I have heard people who hate the movie, and people who love it. I fall closer to LOVING it.. Such a wonderful surprise that my husband planed! Oh how i love him. Today, also, we got a call from a record label. Thats the second one who has called. Kinda crazy:) Life is good today. Like Jimmy Buffet say's "Come Monday it will be alright.." its something that i got from my dad but i kinda really am in love with Jimmy Buffet..
Unexpected Surprises!
| at 3/13/2010
This week seems to be full of surprises! Last saturday it was my dear ol' dad's 50th birthday! So naturally we throw him an "Over the Hill" SURPRISE birthday party! It was a good party. I made my dad a card and every time i look at it i cry.. YIKES. It was so cute at the party, my nephew Dallin sat down by my Shanae, and told me to sit next to him. So i did, because i love him and Shanae, and Tricia and Clark sat next to us. Dallin had a sesame seed on his nose and Clark was just giggling at him, then Dallin became a little more goofy and Clark LOST IT. Food flying out of that one year olds mouth, and Clark kept trying to regain his composure. Oh it was such a lovely party. Anyways that was surprise #1.
Another surprise was that this entire week I have been hurting myself. Not intentionally but i did manage to smack my leg on a desk we bought and built and put bruises all over my leg, and I punched the wall on our way running down the outside stairs, causing my hand to be all torn up and bruised. I also cut my finger with a child safety lock that is on one of our cabinets. I am endlessly burning myself lately as well, at work, at home.. Just don't invite me over, you may have to take me to the hospital.
Surprise THREE is that our show set up for the 20th of march for "Until Dawn" fell through. Then we tried to set up another show at Dancing Dogs for that date and the D.D.'s lady told us we couldn't play that weekend because they were having a Guitar Hero competition (which would be to bad for the Dawn part of Until Dawn, because if you know me at all you know that i tear it up on that game).
When Brandon was getting ready for work, his telephone rings and its DANCING DOGS asking if we could play on the 20th. Hahaha. Sucka's. They didn't know that we had already been told no. But Brandon agreed and we are now playing at Dancing Dogs on the 20th of March... and the best part? IS THAT ITS A FREE Show! So if you are in the Idaho Falls area around 6-ish on Saturday the 20th, come to our show.. It will be NICE!
#4 of surprises. Ever saturday i have to work 12-8 at pizza hut. I don't mind it but i absolutely don't like it either. Anyways Friday night rolls around and my boss asks me if i can come in at 11. I said yes, because what's one more hour, right? Saturday comes, i get to work at 10:55 and SURPRISE, "You came in early? Tish didn't call you? You didn't have to come in!" Nope, no call, so i worked a 9 hour shift. YAY for money anyways.
So today being all tired and stuff from work, I call Brandon after work (tis routine) and he tells me he has a surprise on Monday at 11:30 a.m. I am excited! I don't know what it is! Yay for surprises!
Anyways.. thats a lot of surprises to take in.. i will let you digest.
